Plastic Cards - Variable Data

At the Plastic Card Center, we give you the power to effectively communicate to the masses on a one-to-one level. Variable Data Printing (VDP) is a form of printing in which elements such as text, graphics and pictures may be changed from one piece to the next without stopping or slowing down the printing process. By using an external database file you can customize your plastic cards with different names, addresses, ID numbers and photographs.

VDP is an effective tool that increases your return on investment (ROI) and creates a higher response by the personalization factor. You can add this additional service on membership cards, loyalty cards, I.D. cards, and post card mailers.

In most cases your variable data can be set up in an excel spreadsheet. The Plastic Card Center is not responsible for verifying that the data provided is correct. If the information provided does not meet our specifications, your order may incur additional charges or delays.

Sequential Numbering

We know the importance of tracking your marketing campaigns to measure the success of your promotions or discounts. We offer the capability of printing variable sequential numbers on your plastic cards.

Organizing Your Database

Your database should be organized on the spreadsheet so that each record is contained in its own row. All records in each row should be contained within separate fields. The graphic below explains the correct way to organize your information in Excel.

The Plastic Card Center makes it easy to print I.D. cards and badges by adding images, photos and other identification codes for schools and all kinds of businesses. To properly add images to the database, you need to make sure that all the images provided are saved with the exact name of the person in a JPG format.
