Plastic Cards - Magnetic Encoding

At the Plastic Card Center we make it easy to have your cards ready to use for your next marketing campaign. We provide our customers the option to conveniently encode their cards to be compatible with their POS system. There are a few things that you will have to know from your POS system provider in order to place your magstripe card order:

1. Whether your system reads a low corercivity or a high coercivity magnetic stripe
2. Whether it is track 1, 2 or 3 that your cards need to be encoded on (sometimes it can be more than one track)
3. The encoding information from your POS provider setup in an excel spread sheet

We do not have this information here at the Plastic Card Center. It must come from your system provider in order to ensure compatibility with your POS system.

The figure below represents a typical plastic card with the magnetic stripe on the top. The first and second tracks are the most popular used to encode data. Track three is usually reserved for governmental institutions and banking.
